Peyton Krebs is a 19-year-old hockey player who plays out of Winnipeg. Krebs plays in the WHL for the Winnipeg Ice as a center. Krebs was announced their captain in the 2017-18 season and remains the captain today. Krebs is a prospect for the Vegas Golden Knights and was drafted by them 17th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Krebs is an outstanding forward which shows since in his first season in the WHL he finished first in the league in points among rookies. Krebs was selected to be the captain for team Canada at the 2019 IIHF World U18 Championships. Krebs lead the team with 10 points, making him the highest scoring non-American at the tournament. Krebs took the team to the finals and took home the silver medal.
Krebs is an amazing player for many reasons. Krebs is quick on his feet making it hard on the defense because he can change direction so quickly, and whenever he goes down the ice with speed, he can skate around lots of the defensemen in the league with ease. Krebs is also one of the smartest players on the ice, he always knows where to be in the offensive and defensive zone without someone having to harp at him about where to be. If you ever watch Peyton Krebs play you will notice that he always knows where his teammates are, he constantly has his head up looking for opportunities. Krebs has amazing vision, and this is a big reason why he has 41 assists in 34 games played this season.
Peyton has the potential to be an all-star, and not just in the WHL he has the potential to be a future NHL all-star. Krebs has so much potential because he is still 19 and has so much time to work on all the little things like strength, endurance, and mentality before he plays in the NHL. With Peyton’s skills, hard work, and determination he has a bright future in the sport of hockey. Krebs could possibly win MVP of the league
Peyton Krebs is one of the top prospects in all of Canada. Krebs could potentially play in the NHL this coming 2020-21 season with the Vegas Golden Knights depending on how the rest of his season goes with the Ice. The Knights could’ve drafted hundreds of other players, but they chose to draft Peyton Krebs, and I believe this was the right decision. If u ask his teammates on Winnipeg, they say he is one of the best guys out there, he is a team player and just all around a fun person to be around.
I truly believe Peyton Krebs should be playing in the NHL. In my mind Krebs could potentially be playing in Vegas next year. If he does stay healthy and continue to play well this season it would be hard to believe that he doesn’t play in the NHL in the next two years. Peyton Krebs has the capability to play in the NHL in his near future
