- Over the years, the NBA has seen some impressive three-point shooting.
- #1- Ray Allen. Ray Allen, shooting guard is ranked the number one three-point shooter. In 1996-97 to 2002-03 Allen played for the Milwaukee Bucks’. In 2002-03 to 2006-07 he played for the Seattle sonics. 2007-08 to 2011-12 he played for the Boston Celtics and 2012-13 to 2013-14 he played for Miami Heat. According to Allen’s stats he totaled 2,973 made 3’s. Aside from his impressive shooting, Ray Allen is a very smart player and helpful to his team, driving to the hoop, scoring lay-ups and scoring inside the paint.
- #2- Reggie Miller. Reggie Miller, Shooting Guard is ranked number two for shooting threes. Miller played his entire (18 year) NBA career for the Indiana Pacers. He began this 18-year career in 1987 as the 11th pick in the first round to play for the Pacers. Reggie Miller totaled 2,560 made 3’s, 413 less than Ray Allen. The thing about Millers shot is that he had a bit of a thumb flick. He shot with his shooting hand, for the most part, but had a little bit of thumb on the ball coming from his opposite hand. Regardless of the thumb flick he still made 2,560 threes and became 2nd best three-point shooter of the NBA.
- #3- Stephen Curry. Stephen Curry, Point Guard, is ranked number three for best three-point shooters of all time. On June 25th, 2009, Steph Curry was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Golden state warriors where he played for 10 years. In his first year, he played 80 games, started 77 of them and averaged 17 points per game. Curry started off with 2.1 3 pointers per game in 2009 and as of the 2018-19 he averaged 5.1. Throughout his ten years, so far, he has hit 2,285 threes, but still has more time left to get more. This year, Stephen Curry broke his left arm and was unable to play. His team said after the game that he was driving to the hoop and collided with another player and fell to ground holding his left wrist and after the game figured out, he had broken it. He was out for a while but is preparing to play again according to Ben Pickman. Curry is only 688 threes away from tying it up with Ray Allen and still has more time to play.
- #4- Kyle Korver. Kyle Korver is ranked number four for best three-point shooting. Kyle Korver is a Small forward/ shooting guard for the Milwaukee Bucks. He started playing in 2003 and is continuing to play. In the 2003-04 season his average field goal percentage was .352%. As of his 2019-20 season its increased to be .418%.
